My mission in life is to empower women around money. I grew up relying on my father (the “R” of H&R Block), then my husband, to manage my money, but a devastating financial crisis became a personal wake-up call.
My journey to financial independence was about far more than money. It was a rite of passage into my power! This journey has been such a challenging, freeing, liberating and empowering roller coaster ride journey for me. I now know my mission in life is to share what I’ve learned with the world of women who struggle, in any way, with taking charge of their finances and their lives! And I know many of you are one this path. That’s what this blog is all about. What I write about and teach is not only about money, but a rite of passage into your power!

Barbara, Thanks for your message on my blog. I just poked around on your web sites and I’m impressed. I haven’t read your books, but I will. Some of the things you mention about the women you’ve interviewed had me saying, “Right on! That’s my tribe!” Making money and creating wealth is all about attitude. If you have the mindset, the know-how part becomes easy.

Barbara, your site is AWESOME! I read about you via Girls Who Network and I love love what I see so far! We are on the same track as I too believe in the value of women taking charge of their finances. It is indeed a rite of passage. Hi, Barbara.
I’m working through “Overcoming Underearning” and it is so enlightening. I have not yet been able to tap into any childhood memories about money. However, I know I must have made some decisions then that are holding me back now, because I have been a chronic underearner all of my life up until this point. Now, my goal is to make $100,000 this year. If I can’t tap into my memories & self-limiting beliefs, can I still do that?

It was so great to spend this past weekend with you and to participate in your Overcoming Underearning workshop on Monday. You have such a beautiful way of expressing your passion and your belief in women (even when they can’t seem to believe in themselves). Thank you for the work you are doing and the impact you have on the women in the world today! Since hearing you speak for the first time two months ago and then experiencing your workshop, I have already begun to overcome my underearning mentality. Thank you for showing me the way!
